66 390hp starter

When you turn the key to the start position, which terminal should get juice, the S or the R on the solenoid? I have power with the key turned to the on position, and juice at the large terminal, but the car will not crank.

The "S" terminal of the starter solenoid is the energizing terminal. The purple wire, and only the purple wire, should be connected to it.
