Is this Correct 67 SB Oil Pan??

Hello, I know this is after the fact since the auction is over but is this the correct oil pan for a 327/300 67? The EBAY item # is 280059846508. Thanks for any help.

    Henry

Yes, it is a correct oil pan for any 63-74 Corvette small block except those used for solid lifter engines. It appears to be a GM #3820000.

Thanks Joe. I've seen several of your posts and knew I'd get the right answer if you saw it. Now, was $195 too much for it??

      Thanks again,

      Henry

No, not at all. I'd say it was a good deal at that price, especially since it appears to be in very good condition. No work, at all, will be needed to make this pan ready-to-install.

Recently, I understand that a reproduction of this pan has come onto the market. It's supposed to be very good and from photos I've seen of it, it does look quite good. I don't expect that it's going to sell for less than $200, though. Plus, the pan in the eBay item is an original pan---that's always worth a bit more, ASSUMING that it's in as-good-as-new condition as this pan appears.

UPS just delivered one of Keen's pan's today. Looks very good. The only difference that I can see between it and the original in the floor is that the Keen pan does not have the dents and pin holes in it,

It may be that the days of the $500-1,000 NOS 63-74 "5 quart" oil pans may be about over. However, there are probably enough folks around willing to pay that price, anyway.

I have never understood the mentality that it has to be what GM made. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck in my opinion. If internal and external appearance, fit, and finish are as original why pay the high bucks??

What's more, most of these sort of parts were never manufactured by GM, anyway. They were manufactured by outside suppliers to GM.
