'65 GM Promo pic -- rarely seen

Hey Geoffrey, not as classy as the lady with the cone hat getting into that '65 fuel coupe, which is probably why it is seldom seen. This was on the same page of the "Chevrolet Story 1911-1965" as the picture you posted. I think this booklet was printed annually and sent as part of a shareholder package.

There's also aerial shots of all GM plants; in the one for St.Louis, I think I have spotted my car in the parking lot

Did none of these promo cars have radios (no antenna) ? Also, mirror is turned down.

      Re: U.S.S. Amherst in Backround

Ship was in Detroit as late as 1963. Bet this was the pier the shot was taken from. Eric #3,182

more on the U.S.S. Amherst in Backround

"The vessel got underway on 24 April 1960 to steam to Detroit, Mich. There, she was attached to the 9th Naval District and continued serving as a Naval Reserve training ship. Amherst spent the remainder of her career making training cruises throughout the Great Lakes and visiting various ports in Michigan, New York, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Canada."

Geeeez.... you'd think GM coulda picked one that had the bumpers aligned better. That left front looks like someone backed into it.

I noticed the bumper. Looks like the left front fender/door margin is unusually wide. Car sits a little high?

I see what you mean about the wide gap at the front of the door. Very tight at the rear edge too.

Yes, the bass end looks a little high. Must have an empty tank. Also, the radio delete removes all of the weight of the antenna, further unloading the tail end. It's possible that this might be one or those "right rear bumperette and muffler delete" cars, sometimes seen on Ebay. This would even FURTHER unload the rear spring.
Also.......this photo was probably taken on Ash Wednesday. Notice the black spot in the middle of the "little lady's" forehead.
