Where can I find a black passenger side door handle for a 65. I have been looking, but with no luck. I would prefer an original. also in need of a complete vent cable assembly for the passenger side also.

Are you talking about the inner door pull? That's the only door handle that I could see being black on a 1965. If so, you'll have to look to the reproduction marketplace as the GM pieces are discontinued. I wouldn't go with a used piece for something like this. These handles are pretty much "life-limited"; eventually, the handles break. With a used one, how do you know how much "life" that it has left in it?
Also, keep in mind that these handles are side-specific, so you need the proper one.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Need passenger door handle
Thats right the pull handle. When my daughter closed it, it came off in her hand. You should have seen her face, (12 years old, and I just got the car). I figured it would have to be a repo part, its just I have no idea where to start, or is there just some marketplaces that are recommended.
I know this site is not a resale listing, just thought I would ask the best around.- Top

I'm surprised that the whole thing came off in her hand. Usually, it just breaks at one end. Then, it becomes, effectively, the "pull cord" for the door rather than the "pull handle".
Anyway, most of the Corvette vendors should have these. From Dr. Rebuild (the catalog/reference manual I always have handy) the part number is 1469140. This is for a PAIR. You can keep the driver side around until you need it. That day will arrive, and likely soon, if it's never been previously replaced. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
