standard equipment or not? If so, did all of the '72s have them, or is it possible that the earlier cars did not, unless they were specifically ordered with it? I know the reason it was made standard, but, for some reason, I've always thought the change was for the '73 model year...

Option UA6 (alarm) became standard in 1971, so all '72s had them. -

The anti-theft horn was made standard equipment for the 1972 model year. Is it possible that some very early cars didn't get it? I suppose it's possible, but I doubt it. I believe that advertising for the 1972 model year included this feature as standard equipment. That pretty much "locks it in" that all 1972's were so-equipped.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment

Read somewhere once that the fiber optics were dropped for the 72 model year and the anti-theft became standard equipment.Comment
