Joe Lucia; C1 Wheel cylinder numbers

    Joe

Are wheels cylinders still available from GM or AC Delco? If so could we have the numbers please? Working on both a 61 and 62. Thanks in advance.

Strangely, I can only find availability for the REAR wheel cylinders. These are Delco #172-1241 aka GM #18009065 and Delco #172-1242 aka GM #18009066. I'm quite sure that these cylinders are no longer manufactured by any GM or DELPHI entity and are, instead, the product of one of the other brake parts manufacturers.

I can't find availability on the fronts from ANY of the major brake parts manufacturers. However, I would think that they'd be out there somewhere.

I don't know weather you care about original ones like these having the numbers raised , but you should find replacements any where, or look under Chevy guys on e-bay 47 to 54 (the same ) .

Yes, GM #18029192 is a front wheel cylinder. However, I show no Corvette applications for it. The applications I do find are some 66-70 Chevrolet and GMC trucks (mostly 4 wheel drive apps) and some 74-76 Jeeps. It might work for the Corvette application, but I can't find anywhere that GM catalogs it for such. It is a 1-1/8" bore cylinder whereas I believe the originals for 60-62 were 1-3/16". By itself, I don't think that difference would cause any problem, though.
