Looking for a NCRS quality 67-69 Camaro forum

Does anyone know of a great forum like this that is for the early Camaro?

My brother has an 67 SS350 4spd with the RS option and I was going to get a air cleaner for him for Christmas. I thought it would be pretty straight forward but after looking for a bit I'm not really sure what it should look like. I would like to find a forum like this so I can throw some question out there asap.

    Thanks

    Greg Linton

        Try Camaro.org

These guys are serious enthusiasts. I think our own John Hinckley is a long time member, ask for his suggestion.

          Greg,

I've belonged to the CRG ( Camaro Research Group ) for many years. I would
have to say that in the Camaro world, it get closest to the NCRS ( forgive me
everybody ). Find them at www.camaros.org

Attention to detail is what it is all about. You will find that there.....

            Greg -

I'm a CRG (Camaro Research Group) Core Member (www.camaros.org), and I think you'll find just about anything you'll ever need at the site; our mission is restoration data for '67-'69 Camaros, and you'll find it all there - poke around in the boxes at the top of the home page, and you'll find all the data/charts/photos/history/research reports, including a complete step-by-step assembly sequence from body welding to the Roll Test. We also have a full-featured discussion forum where you can upload photos direct from your hard drive.

The other forum you may find useful is Team Camaro, www.camaros.net, especially the sections on "Tag Team" and "Restoration".

                John,

How about a site for the early second gens?

                  Kurt -

www.nastyz28.com is exclusively aimed at the second-gen cars, just as the two sites I mentioned above are exclusively for the first-gen cars.

Thanks John, already a member there. Good site but limited information on original stuff. It would be nice to have something like the CRG or NCRS equivalent for the early '70 cars.

PS. I've got some great pictures for you (and the CRG) I'll send soon of an original untouch AIR pump, hoses, tubes, etc. from a '68 Z28. I purchased the AIR from the original owner.

                    Regards,
                    Kurt

The complete A.I.R system was off my new 68 Z28 within hours of getting the car home. Went in the trash as I remember. If I only knew then what I know now. I suppose that whole system today is worth about a third of what I originally paid for the whole car.

                        Michael...

same thing here, the originl owner had it off the next day. It was in his attic for 35+ years before I bought it.

You're very fotunate to have found an owner that saved that setup. No one wanted any of that when those cars were new.

I'd tell you about all the brand new parts that hit the trash in the first month of my cars life but it wouldn't make you happy. After four years of racing, I sold the car less engine/drive for $1500.

Good friend did the same to a brand new 67 Z28. Had the complete cage in it and went road racing within a month of new. Nothing left of the original car but the sheet metal.

Same here - I bought my '69 Z/28 from the original owner, and he had removed the A.I.R. system the same day he took delivery of the car. 30 years later, having moved twice since, he still had the stuff in a box in the basement, sparkling brand new.
