    427- tri- power cam

I am currently considering a rebuild of the 69 427 435 and wanted to ask the members knowledgable in rebuilding for their thoughts and recomendations on cams for this motor. Do you just get a new version of this cam or get the LS6 cam ?

Use the OE cam. The LS6 cam is the same as your OE cam.
If you want "more power" massage the heads.

The biggest limitation to BB output is the OE exhaust system. It's low restriction for a SHP SB, but restrictive for a SHP BB.

Backpressure increases with the SQUARE of exhaust flow, and flow increases linearly with gross power, so if you increase power/flow by 40 percent, exhaust backpressure DOUBLES, which takes a big toll on NET power.

If you want the original camshaft, look for part# 3904362, if you can't find that one, look for 3863143. Otherwise try an aftermarket, although they are not exactly the same.
