    RE: 68-69 bumper guards

I have a question on 68-69 vs. 70-72 front bumperettes a/k/a bumper guards. Is there a difference? Is the configuration/shape/appearance different such that there would be a deduct for judging to use a 69 on a 70 and vise versa?
    Thanks

Yes, there is a difference between the 68-69 and 70-72 bumper guards. The configuration difference is such that I would expect that any competent judge could tell the difference and make an appropriate deduction. I have no idea what the deduction would be, though.

Any ideas on how to get the "bumperette" to line up with the grill trim on my 68??? I have played around with the drivers side and its acceptable but the passenger side is off a ton, enough to stick a finger in between! Did the redesign of the bumper fix this or was the body corrected? The only proper fix I see is cutting and grafting the body to correct the factory screw up, er' I mean geometry.

                Dave-----

Not that I know of. Besides, if you were to get it "perfect", you'd probably take a deduction in judging-----I don't think a single car came from the factory like that.
