Joe-----
The book is distributed by Crane's Corvette of San Diego, CA (www.cranescorvette.com). However, it's sold by many of the Corvette parts vendors that sell non-parts items. I believe that Corvette Central is one of the vendors that carries this book.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Dick------
Unless something has changed recently, I don't think that the NCRS Bookstore carries this particular book. Way-back-when, I asked Gary Mortimer about it. He told me that for reasons of cost (and, perhaps, other reasons), they were not going to carry it. I don't think they've changed positions on it. As a matter of fact, my first attempt at purchasing it was to try to the NCRS bookstore.
For some reason that I've never been able to figure out, the distribution of this book has been "strange" since it was originally published. When it first came out, I could not find any place to get it. Even sources like Motorbooks didn't have it and couldn't get it.
Later, the "exclusive" distribution rights, apparently, were acquired by Cranes Corvette of San Diego. At the time I thought that was quite unusual. I mean, a vendor like Cranes Corvette being the exclusive distributor of a book like this????? For awhile, I believe that the only way you could get the book was directly from Crane's and that's where I got mine. Later, I think that other Corvette vendors began selling it, but I think that their source is Crane's.
Part of the distribution problem may involve the fact that the book is published by an obscure firm called "California Trader Publications" of Alpine, CA (near San Diego). It was printed by The University of California at San Diego.
Actually, it is quite an informative book. It also makes the 1969 model year unique in that it is the only single model year Corvette that I know of that has a complete book and "technical treatise" published for it. While the book also has some information regarding "adjoining model years", it primarily focuses on the 1969 model year and information regarding other "adjoining model years" is primarily provided to show comparative differences and put the 1969 information in context. The book is titled by the author as "1969 Stingray Guidebook" although David Crane has, apparently, added "stickers" to some books to cover up the "1969" and replace it with "1968-1969".
I don't consider the book to be 100% accurate, but it's quite good and probably as accurate or more accurate than most other Corvette books out there. It does provide in-depth information regarding the 1969 model that will not be found in any other book and it provides more in-depth information regarding the 1969 model than can be found for ANY other single model year Corvette in any book currently available. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1969 Stingray Guidebook by Rick Bizzoco
Thank-you all. I checked the NCRS bookstore first, but didn't find it. I did track it down, but buying it still seems to present some challenges. It must be under exclusive as Joe said, because I can't find it at Amazon or even E-BAY. I will get it and use it for information as well as cross-reference to other sources. The people on this forum still seem to be the best and most un-impeachable sources of info. Thanks...joe- Top
