Happy Turkey Day,
Last year I purchased an ACC carpet set for my 66 Convertible. While installing the molded wheel well sections, I found that they do not fit properly around the luggage stop and storage compartment, as if the carpet mold was larger than the actual fit. I fear I am going to have to use a carpet knife to make it fit, which means cutting off the bound edges in the luggage compartment area. Has anyone else experienced this?
Also, regarding the front carpet set, the plastic backing on this carpet does not allow it to fold over the luggage stop very easily. Should the carpet be glued all the way down to the storage compartment lid? And if so, how snuggly does it follow the sheet metal bends of the luggage stop?
I do not have a good feeling about ACC plastic-backed carpet.
