Re: Zr1 pics
Hey Dennis - That's a traffic light viewer. I'll bet Roy Braatz could put it in his '55 and really use it if they have traffic lights in CA. All kidding aside, it is probably owner inspired . . . I've never heard of them being optional dealer accessories for Corvettes. Cadallac, Buick & Pontiac had'em back then.

Re: Zr1 pics
I'm surprised Roy hasn't shown one yet. That is a wide angle lense to help view overhead traffic lights. An interesting option I've seen in more early '50s cars and trucks, especially with an outside sun visor, than in '70s Vettes.
Often they are a Fresnel lens so you get the wide angle without the thickness, although this one doesn't have the segmented look of a Fresnel lens.- Top

Re: Zr1 pics
I must be the accessory man here! Yes it was a traffic viewer ,sold mostly back East were they hung the traffic light on a wire and if you had the accessory sun visor you needed the traffic viewer on the car dash or you had to lower and turn your head to see the stop light turn green . Cars having a sun visor always had the thing. Why it's on a Corvette is silly because they never offered a sun visor for a Corvette.
I could if people wonted to start seeing the GM dealer accessories that was offered for Corvettes which was many. But die hard fanatic's may throw me off the forum and I dont think NCRS people would care a whip!!
As many know I like being different then the ordinary Corvette.
