68 Driver side door mirror

Where is the best place to get a factory correct date coded mirror for the driver door of my 68?
The mirror I have has a date code of 10 DMI 4 which makes it an October 1974 and I need to purchase a mirror coded for 1968 to pass judging?

I believe that Paragon sells just a correct dated mirror glass so you don't have to buy the entire mirror.

Correct.

They sell the mirror with plan glass, with dated glass, or just the dated glass.

Paragon only sells the replacement glass for 78 and up; not 68 accordign to their latest catalog # V.31.2006

Do you have a part number for just the dated glass on a 1968, because I cannot find it in their catalog any longer. They have the later years but not 68.

Give OEM glasss a call. 800-283-2122. They used to be THE source for dated mirrors.

Make sure you have the correct mirror head size for a 68. 68-74 used a small mirror and 75 and up a larger. From the date code you give it is probably a large head mirror.

The mirror head size is 3 7/8 by 5 3/8 with a glass size of 3 1/2 by 5.
I know what you mean about the late date code; one would expect it to be the larger size. It's strange and I can't explain it.

What do you mean?

I'm here daily. My Corvettes haven't moved since mid May, so no problem with hitting deer when they spend all their time in storage.

I've purchased them, and even saw them at Carlisle, so I knew the glass was available.
