C-1 Radiator X Brace

How much space should there be between the radiator housing X brace and the radiator core? The brace is about 5/16 round stock welded in the corner of the housing and where it meets in the middle. Thanks, Jimmy

What year? There are differences between different C-1's.

I just put mine in and it touches the core. It fits so close that it actually bends the radiator core fins as you put it in if you are not careful. Both of my 59s are like that. Tom

Mine also touches. It looked like it could do damage over time but must be the way they came from the factory. Thanks for your response. Jimmy
