    How were the steel supports and rivets finished?

      My understanding, while restoring my '67 spare tire tub/tray, was that the steel braces were semi-gloss black and the aluminum rivets natural.

              That's correct - the V-brace was dip-primed semi-gloss black before being riveted to the tray.
