C2 Rear Spring Bolt -61/4" Head Markings?

Getting parts ready to put rear spring back. Have some new GM 6 1/2" long rear spring bolts, 351592. These are silver in color with a head marking of "ROCKFORD" along the outside with "92" in the center with five evenly space radial slash marks held to inside.

My present bolts are black with five evenly spaced radial slash marks spaced to the outside with "SBC" on the outside spaced one leter between the slash marks.

From past posting I need to make them black (can plate the 351592) BUT which is the correct head marking to use? The NOS or ones I have now (spring has been in and out a few times)

    Thanks Alan

    Alan-----

The bolts that you described are DEFINITELY not "correct" in an originality sense. They are 100% functionally correct and were used in PRODUCTION for 1975-76 Corvettes and, at one time, were SERVICE for earlier Corvette models.

Original bolts had headmarkings of "C", "SBC", and, likely, others, too. However, "Rockford" was not among those used on any 1974 or earlier model that I've seen.

You can obtain correctly configured and finished bolts from GM under GM #458982. These bolts are, except for headmarking, virtually the same as original. Plus, they often even have the "C" headmarking which is one of the original headmarkings (no guarantees on this, though).
