66 & 67 coils

I recently bought two reproduction coils...one for my 66 standard ignition 427/390 car(232)and one formy 67 T.I.ignition 427/435 car(263). These are GM Reatoration Parts Delco Remy coils.(Boxes say:Made in China)
How can I tell if these coils are "stock rated coils"? Thanks for the help.

the shop manuals gives the different resistance

readings for the different coils.

if you check the resistance and it matches the

manual specs they should work. the difference in the 2 coil is the turns ratio and the resistance test will show that. you can find a shop with a coil tester and have them check the output of the coils. the points coil is easy to check on the bench with a old distributor and a battery. the TI will need a amp,black box, to bench test it.i would think you could also use a HEI distributor to bench test the TI coil

use a oil pump drive shaft in chucked in a

electric drill to spin the distributor that is clamped in the bench vise. this is the way i used to set the dwell on points distributor on the bench.
