67 L71 carbs

I'd like to buy correct date coded carbs for my 67 427/435 and with build date Sept 20/1966. I would like to know how close to the build date of the car should the date on the carbs be. is 3-4 months acceptible?

Walt -

Your range of available dates is probably narrower than the "6-month rule" due to the early car build date, as Holley most likely didn't start making those 3x2 2300's until late July or early August of '66; others with more detail knowledge of those dates will probably chime in.

My car is a late june 435 and I am sure that it has the original carbs. The center center carb is 722 (1967-feb-2ed week) my end carbs 743 & 743.

I think what John Hinckley was saying is that in this case, Holley may not have began manufacturing these carbs 6 months prior to assembly date per the manual (which would be March, 66). The earliest I have seen is June 66, but to be honest I haven't looked very hard.
