I have seen pictures of the C-3 1968-1972 Corvette with stipes across the top of the nose and the top edges of the fenders. Is this factory correct for the vehicle and are there sources available for the stripes? Thank you, Cindy

Re: 1968-1972 Corvette stripes
Cindy, fender striping NOT "factory correct" for 68-72 Corvettes...hood striping was only on 70-72 LT1s, plus some other low volume models most people never heard about. That fender striping must have been a popular mod back in the day; my 70 had stripes on the tops of the fenders when I got it. The fender stripes on my car were hand-painted...poorly.- Top

Re: 1968-1972 Corvette stripes
Cindy,
This is kind of an interesting subject. There was a '68 white big block coupe that sported the same design striping that later appeared on one of the two '69 ZL-1's, also a coupe. The '68 had some history of being in the engineering dept at Chevrolet. The '69 Daytona yellow coupe came with the same style stripe, ordered by the, then current plant supervisor/engineer during the 1969 model year. These are the only two cars I'm aware of that have a front nose stripe.- Top

Cindy,
Warren may be correct in his explination, I'm not up to speed with them. If you wish to see one of two ZL-1 cars produced in 1969, go to www.rogerscorvette.com and click on Roger's personal collection.
