    AWOL condenser for a 69

I posted a question a while back with this pic in hopes that someone could help me identify this condenser.

I had a few leads but no one could positively identify it. It was a "left over" from when I had the dash apart back in the eighties so I would like to find out where it goes this time around. I just noticed this pic on ebay...
and to me it looks like the one. I checked my cluster and it doesn't have one at this time. The ebay cluster is a 68 and mine is an early 69 so I'm thinking that I have found out where my missing condenser goes. What do you guys think, is it a match or was "this" condenser located in a different spot in 69? The other question I have is where should the pig tail be attached?

    Greg,

That kind of looks like the radio capacitor that goes on one of the ammeter terminals, and is screwed to back of the cluster, on a 67. Not sure if it is the same on a 69. 67 part no. would be 1960959 from the 67 Assembly Manual.

The pigtail shares one of the ammeter terminals with the ammeter connector (again on a 67). The terminal strip in the picture looks like it is folded over.

    Cheers,

I don't have a '69 AIM, but you should be able to find the location in the U-69 section of the assy manual.

Thanks guys but it's still the unknown condenser.

The one that is shown attached to the instrument cluster is in the area of the seatbelt warning light for a 69 so I'm not sure what it would be for...

I again checked the U69 section of my AIM and can't find this condenser anyplace. I located the three that are actually in the car as shown in the AIM. There is one each for the turn signal flasher, stop lamp switch and one for the ignition switch and that is all that the AIM shows that should be behind the dash and under the console.

Could someone check their 68 AIM to see if this condenser is in their manual? I'm thinking that this is a 68 condenser that may have been used in the early 69s but has been deleted from the 69 AIM. This is the only reason that I can think of as to why the 68 cluster that I have posted has this condenser but the 69 AIM doesn't show it.
