Am thinking of getting 55 judged in Florida. The problem is the paint job is not perfect and I will probably not be able to get a top flite. I could paint it now but if the car is unable to top flite due to someone in the past screwing around with motor it would be a wasted paint job as I would paint it yellow or orange or something cool now. Should I enter it and see what I have even though it is not perfect.any suggestions?? It is gypsey red now.

Re: 55 vete flight judging Florida
Hi Don! I thought with the accessories I had in my 55 why have it judged and I drive it, but because it was the 50th year we did ,well we got a top flight , yes I took some hits but go for it and don't worry what others may think. Even if we dint get any flight so what! To us it dint matter we love our 55 like it is.If you can send me some engine pic's I may be able to help you decide if that matters. ( remember no Corvette is perfect)- Top

Re: 55 vete flight judging Florida
Don, You get 85 points for correct color and your paint is worth another 85 - 45 for Originality and 40 for Condition. So if your car has an original paint in the correct color the very most you could loose is 40 points based on condition. But I would doubt that you would loose all 40 points anyway. So your paint alone shouldn't stop you from getting a Top Flight. I say go for it!!! IMHO, BobBob- Top

Don,
If you don't have it judged, you'll never know how good it is. Just go for it!!!

I would
go ahead and get it judged- I had mine judged about 10 years ago, and it took a lot fewer hits than I expected. You can see mine in the C1registry, and if yours isn't in there, I'm sure the other 55 owners would be glad of the addition of yours.
