Excellent article and photos. It's not often that we get to see great pictures of the disassembled components of a new car. I'm sure these shots answer a lot of questions for the C1 guys.

Yes, the picture pretty much tells the real story. Many years ago, when I first tried to describe/explain the black coating on almost everything on the chassis/suspension, it was furiously rejected. I think it's now beginning to be accepted by most. This would be the correct look for 53 through 64.

Love the coated exhaust pipes.
