There is a set of dust shields on ebay with the number "3908199" stamped in yellow. 1.Were they ever stamped with that number in yellow? 2. If so does that number fit a 1967 C-2?? 3. Is this original material or more of the cheap thin repro stuff. I have bought several so called originals which are thinner material. Thank you Dale

Re: 1967 C-2 dust shields
Dale-----
GM #3908199 is the original part number for the 1967 a-arm shields which later became the SERVICE part for 63-66.
The GM #3908199 was available from September, 1966 through May, 1999. So, there was a lot of time for the part to have changed in subtle or not-so-subtle ways. As a matter of fact, the yellow-printed part numbers were a feature of later SERVICE examples of the part rather than earlier.
Did it change over the years? I do not know, but I consider it a very distinct possibility. One would need to compare the shields you have to a known-original used in PRODUCTION or a known very early SERVICE piece to ascertain if any difference exists. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1967 C-2 dust shields
Have a set from early 70's (can not find my purchased parts list today for a date)
The ebay one's look the same. Mine have no yellow pn or any other markings.
Was just getting ready to replace mine and discover the 67 (3908199) are no good for my 64 (3797054) so I ordered a set - hope they are thick enought. Can send you a picture if it would help, but they look the same. (email me if wanted)
