Does anyone know of a radiator shop in the Los Angeles area they have used, also need someone to rebuild my brake calipers and would prefer local shop as well. Itching to get on the road.

Harry you can remove the calipers and send them to one of the places that can install stainless steel sleeves in the calipers and rebuild them. If your car was really sitting for 30 years in a garage I would suspect the calipers would have pitting from the moisture the brake fluid absorbed and cleaned up and honed could still have piston seal leakage. There are several places to send them, it may be important to you to specify that you want your calipers sleeved and rebuilt and returned, not something they have on the shelf already completed. Your calipers could very well be the originals from the factory. Your master cylinder needs rebuilt as well with new brake hoses front and rear. Vette Brakes, Stainless Steel Brakes, and Lone Star can help. None of these are located in LA. -

Harry, I just replaced my calipers and hoses on my 70 coupe. I used rebuilt calipers (stainless sleeved with lip seals) from Duntov Motor Company (www.fastcorvette.com). This vendor was recommended to me when I posted some questions about redoing my brakes. I spoke with Alan from Duntov at Corvettes at Carlisle, he answered all my technical questions and I was very pleased with their parts. I also purchased brake fluid from them.
