    68 Key Warning Buzzer

Did the 68 Corvette have a key warning buzzer if you exit the car with the key left in the ignition and the motor off.?
I ask because today my wife and I went for a cruise and upon returning home, I left the key in the ignition, opened the door to get out and I heard a buzzer. I have owned this car since 1972 and never heard this buzzer before. Do I have a key warning buzzer that finally came to life or is there a swarm of bees living in my Corvette. Seriously, when I removed the key the buzzing stopped but I never knew they ahd this item in 68.
Can someone confirm and also tell me where the buzzer is physically located?
    Thank you,
    Kurt

Kurt - Your 1968 Chevrolet including the Corvette features as standard equipment a buzzer device (Note: Many old cars also have bees) which will activate when the driver's door is opened and the key left in the switch. Check your 1968 Owner's Manual. First couple of pages and also later in the Section entitled KEYS, DOORS and LOCKs.

The buzzer is part of the horn relay assembly.

Boy do I feel stupid (that's happening with some frequency lately).
I never knew I had this buzzer.
Is the horn relay under the center shift console or is it mounted in the engine bay?
      Thanks Pete,
      Kurt

            not always......

...on my '68, it's the idle speed solenoid w/Q-Jet bracket that "buzzes" when the key is left in the ignition.
