    Speedometer Miantenance

I have my 60 cluster apart for cleaning and repainting and figured I'd lubricate the rear bushings on both my tach and speedometer. Both worked fine prior to taking them apart so I thought that a little lubrication was all that was needed.I have read several threads on pulling the plug and re-oiling the wick on the NDB, but cant find a source of the little plugs to replace after oiling. I went to my local speedometer shop and asked if they would oil it for me but they said the only way they would work on it would be to replace the rear bushing and re calibrate the unit at a cost of about $ 70 per unit. I can buy a complete calibrated drop-in unit for less than that, so that is out of the question. Am I being foolish in not rebuilding the unit or is lubrication all that is really indicated? I would like to hear from those of you who have been down this path and have comments as well as a source for the plugs as well as the rubber grommets that mount the unit ot the case Thanks, John Mc Graw

    Re: Speedometer Maintenance

I am in a similar situation as you can see from my post above yours and am very interested in others' experiences. I was writing my post (and getting the kids ready for school) as you were posting. Hope we get some good guidance.
