Re: AC Fuel pump ID help
Brian-----
AC #4346 is applicable to late 1956 Corvettes and all 1957 Corvettes. It's also applicable to 1956-57 passenger cars with dual 4 barrel carb or FI.
AC #4663 is applicable to 1956-58 Corvettes as well as the same passnger car applications I described above. It may be SERVICE-only, though. I can't confirm that it was used in PRODUCTION.
AC #4701 is applicable to 1959-63 passenger cars with 283.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: AC Fuel pump ID help
Chuck------
Those are the full AC part numbers. Many earlier AC fuel pumps used 4 digit AC part numbers. All had 7 digit GM part numbers, though. The change to 5 digit AC part numbers began APPROXIMATELY 1965, although there was a phase-in period for several years thereafter. I believe that the first Corvette fuel pump to go to a 5 digit AC part number was the 40083. I can't find any record of a 6106, but there may have been such a pump.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: AC Fuel pump ID help
Chuck,
The full AC part numbers for the referenced pumps are 5594346 (4346), 5594701 (4701), 5594663 (4663), 6440083 (40083). Only the last four or five digits were ever stamped on the flange. The 6106 is an unusual number, its full AC part number is 856106 and the only listing I can find for its use is on a Waukesha model XA or XAR commercial or marine engine.- Top
