Not all but many original 55 Radiators I've seen like my 55 Corvette beside the date tag also had this little tag V soldered on too. May to help line people tell a 54 from a 55 Corvette??

I'm not a C1 guy(yet)so I can't comment on yours, but my 69 has a tag to the same effect. Sorry for the poor pic but if you look between the overflow tube and the transmission cooler fitting you will see a small tag with a [backwards 5,H,backwards 5].
Not sure what it's for either but I'll bet that they both serve the same purpose even though they are 14 years apart.

Re: 55 owners eyes only
Roy, Other than the tag, is there any difference between a '54 and a '55 radiator? Are the reproduction radiators accurate or clearly wrong? Thanks,

Re: 55 owners eyes only
Significant differences exist between a 54 and a 55 radiator. 54 has different hose outlet/inlet sizes, and a fitting for a hose to go to an expansion tank. 55 through early 60 copper radiators are configured the same.- Top
