c2 Lower grill valance

Hello, I have noticed that on my friends 67 Coupe the passenger side lower grill valance is cut out. Right above the lower bumper brace. It is On the Right side only. I have looked at other 65's 66's and they do not have that cut out. Does anyone know what the purpose of this cut out is for? If so what year did they start this? Thanks

This topic was discussed previously on the board, so it would be worth your while to look thru the archives. I can tell you that my July build date '66 has the cutout on the passenger's side of the valance.

i have an april 116860 and june 121115 67's conv.---both cars have the cutout and are original non-hit fronts---hope this helps
