68 rear end code AV

I was inspecting a rear end this AM that a friend had stripped from a parts car, a 68 coupe, the axle code was AV and the date is 5/16/68. When I looked up the code, it said positraction 3.08 from a 427 but did not state heavy Duty on the listing like all the other 427 rear ends. This unit does not have the heavy duty yokes. I was wondering was the application was???
