C2 Tail Light Electrical Conncetion

Need to replace one rear tail light boot. In order to do so the connector must have the two pins/springs removed so that they can be pushed into the boot.
Yes I could cut and solder back, but desire to remove the pins!

On must GM connectors on can push a small tool from the front of pin collapsing the small retainer thus pushing the pin out of the connector housing.

I do not know what that round pin/spring looks like and have not been able to remove yet.

Anyone know how to remove it?? A picture of just the pin would be great.

Unfortunately, the original terminal, part number 2965836, and the assembly they plug into, part number 2977064 are both absent form the 1988 era parts book I maintain for these items. My recommendation is to splice and hide the splice inside the boot.
