    Inner fender fiberglass repair....

My drivers side inner fender was replaced some time ago and shows a case of acne like pock marks. The pock marks are not very deep (1/32ish) but are clearly visible.

Any thoughts on how to fill em...High build primer....filler.....sand paper?

No...this is NOT a photo of the beautiful night sky in Chicagoland.....but rather a portion of the inner fender.

Jim, this looks like the backside of a hand-laid panel that someone tried to sand smooth...looks like he discovered that finishing such a panel by sanding is pretty much futile.

I don't think high build primer will get it done...it's probably going to take a skim coat of filler. In any event, filler would be easier and faster. I don't know for sure, but I would be concerned about the filler sticking forever without some kind of surface prep to remove the black out paint and roughen the bottoms of the pits. Light sand or bead blasting would probably be optimal, but I wouldn't try that unless the engine was out of the car. Wire brushing may work, but may not get down into the pits real well.

      Thanks Chuck....

It does look like a hand laid panel to me, but I am no expert on that. Surface is smooth with the exception of the pock marks. Yes the motor is out. What type of filler coat are you talking about?

A quality body filler...auto paint stores should have it; there's one called Gold Rage or something like that used by a lot of professionals. Or...the Bondo down at Pep Boys will probably work too. Since you are only going to need a quart, that may be your best option.
