    C2:67 ConvTop- What's wrong here

Looks like the edge of the rear bow doesn't meet the edge of the convertible top on the sides.

I tried jamming in the holdin cord on both the top and the weatherstrip and got some out of it, but I'm still showing about an 1/8" off. There is just too much slack in the holdin cord flap on the top.

Any suggestions. Shall I glue it to the rear bow in the correct position?

Holy cat, didn't realize how bad my original paint job looks in a close-up. Looks better from 40 feet away.

You should have to streatch it a little to fit the verticle and glue that down. If you have overhang at the holding cord area thats what they make scissors for. You have to trim that back to the frame in order to install the weatherstrip filler.

I agree with Wayne. You picked the wrong time of year to be doing this work..

A soak in the hot sun will make stretching easier.

        Tracy,

It's still 90 today in N.Cal, and I still have the heat lamp in the garage. I'm gonna figure out that side fit problem if it takes all day, and before I glue anything down. Will post the solution.

I dont know exactly what problems your haveing, but if you try to get everything out of it at installation, you are going to drive yourself nuts. Small wrinkles etc. will drop out over time, as it naturally stretches and shrinks. After a few months, it will be perfect.

            Wayne,

Well, it's Saturday and I'm back on it. I think I need to address that lower edge along the side, there is just too much slack in the flap that goes into the rear bow. I don't think that will heal up over time but continue to get worst.

If you take a look at the picture above, you'll see the flap on the top exposed over the edge of the rear bow. I did rework it and shoved the hold-in cord tighter into the rear bow, but I still have about 1/8" reveal at the end when the top is latched at the back.

Thinking now of glueing the flap at that location to the bottom of the rear bow. If you see the little indent in the picture in the flap, that's the end of the rear bow. Would you cut the entire flap off at that location or just the hold-in cord?

            Thanks for your advice,
