    Flat Spot In Carburetor

Is it possible to have a high-strung SHP/SBC without it? Carb is a 2818.

    Joe -

Yup! Most tip-in flat spots are related to the accelerator pump. I've found many where the .015" clearance adjustment between the linkage and the pump operating lever was made with the linkage at the idle position instead of at WOT, and that's guaranteed to result in a tip-in bog. That adjustment must be made with the primary throttle plates at WOT and the pump operating lever fully depressed (down); takes three hands (or a stout rubber band), but that's the ONLY way to do it correctly.
