Re: I have some Restoration Questions
Looks similar to 50% of the Corvettes that we judged in Sydney Australia back in 2005 when the Australian Chapter kicked off their first meet. What's your question(s), Geoff? We ARE Flight Judging RHD converted Corvettes these days you know...- Top

Re: I have some Restoration Questions
Geoff,
I have seen pictures of this car several times on a few forums.
Did you acquire it? If you need to make room in your garage for this one, I can take one of your others off your hand and I won't charge you much to do it. I will even pick up so you don't have to deliver, saving you the 3 hour ride to my home.
Always glad to help,,,,

Re: I have some Restoration Questions
Geoffrey------
What do you mean by "restoration". I know the history of this car and it has already been restored. A kit was used that was developed by the "Brand X" Research Institute. I was once offered a research fellowship at said institute and I can tell you that the quality of the talent there is second-to-none in the entire world----absolutely phenomenal! It's a virtual "Corvette think tank" where every nuance of original detail, right down to a "gnat's derriere" is studied in microscopic detail. No detail is too small or insignificent for intensive study. Symposia are conducted on such topics as the machining marks on the contact surfaces of nuts used on Corvettes, angles of the "split" on split lockwashers, original patina exhibited by body primers as applied at St. Louis, and the exact degree of the propagation of rust on natural steel parts as of the day a car was shipped from St. Louis.
All of this research is fed back into the "Brand X" restoration part development and manufacturing process. A quintessential example of the finished product is the kit used in the restoration of the car pictured. Their new "restoration kits" represent a quantum leap in Corvette restoration. In a single kit are supplied all the the parts necessary to take a Corvette from "basket case" to a "perfect example of the car as it was sent forth from St. Louis".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
