    solid lifters C1

I am asking if anyone knows the specifications for adjusting solid lifters on a 1957 corvette fuel injection 283?

    John,

I adjusted my 57 2X4 to .012" intake (hot) and .018 exhaust (hot). This should apply to all models equipped with mechanical lifters.

        John

John Hickley and Duke Williams wrote a great article on how to set mechanical lifters cold, if you don't have access to it e-mail me and I will send you a copy. It works great and no hot oil to contend with.

            Duke,

Does your procedure apply to the Duntov cam? My understanding was that the method described in ST-12 was sufficient for the Duntov, and your/John's method became needed for the 30-30 and LT-1.

            Cheers!

Yes, the ST-12 and '63 Corvette Shop Manual are okay for indexing as far as I know, but I have different lash specs based on measured rocker ratio behavior.
