Does anyone know how or where to get the information required to easily decode a PROTECT-O-PLATE?

Much of the information can be found in the Assembly Information Manual (AIM) for your particular year Corvette. You see, the St Louis assembly plant had to produce these plates for each car, so they needed some sort of instructions on this. Not all of the information is in the AIM, but I think that you will find it quite useful.

Jim, You could also get the book, "Corvette ID Numbers 1953-1993" by Cars and Parts magazine.Has all protecto plate codes for each year etc.plus a paint/interior color chip section that no other book has.
