I will be driving my car to the Event. The Ops checks will run from 12-4PM on Thursday and all cars are to be inside the trade center by 5PM. The schedule states that "Showcars driven to the meet will have cold start check performed Friday at 7:00 AM.".

I'm not staying at the hotel and wasn't planning being at the event on Friday (can't take off too much time from work). Does this mean I have to be there Friday to start my car? My car will not be judged until Sat.

Also, why is there a cold start check for cars only driven to the show?

For an outdoor event, the ops check is done the day of judging, but for an indoor event, the Fire Department and the Building Department become involved because automobiles create a potentially hazardous condition. Thus, the ops checks of ALL cars is conducted prior to their being placed inside the facility, as a meand of checking any safety issues.

For cars that will be PV evaluated, the cold start test can be done on Friday morning.
