C1 What gets painted on seat belt buckles?

When you paint C1 1959 seat belt buckles exactly what gets painted. I am sure they would have to be taken apart. Thanks, Jimmy

Just the release handle was painted (until mid-61 when it was left in natural pot metal). Taking the handle off is pretty sumple, though.

You'll see a circular clip on one end of the release handle's attaching pivot pin. Remove the clip and the pivot pin will slide out. Lift the handle before you remove the pivot pin and study the orientation of the release handle return spring(s) so you can re-assemble them in their correct orientation...
