    C3 Trim Dying Help Needed

I am dying a NOS Rear Window Trim. It was new and the vendor dyed it the correct firethorn, but it seems too light. I have never done this before, but would additional coats darken it? Do you apply the dye like regular spray paint? Who has the best "color match?"

    Thanks again!

On plastic parts use flexible primer which comes in rattle cans. Corvette America distributes interior dyes through various retailers such as Willcox Corvette, Paragon, Corvette Central, etc. Also comes in rattle cans. Spray using even strokes one light coat at a time. Don't try to overload.

Along those same lines,,,, my Deluxe Interior leather seat shows a small amount of rubbing where my flight suit removed the black color. Couple of Questions: Do the previous described methods work for black leather? What is the best product to blend in the re-dye while not wanting to do more than about 1 to 1-1/2 sq. in. Thanks in advance to the experts who have gone before us!!!

I've used rattle can dyes on the vinyl door panels, lower dash pads, etc. But I have a great respect for leather. I would first test it on some piece of non-essentail black leather to determine its effectiveness. I use colored boot and shoe creams for leather because it both stains the leather and has emolients to preserve and soften the leather. After application wipe off excess and buff. The retail place I find these creams and pastes are Justin Boots but I'm sure any leather shop or automobile upholstery shop will assist you. You might consider contacting Al Knoch Interiors at www.alknochinteriors.com for leather dye recommendations. 1-800-880-8080 Or 1-866-AlKnoch
