Am going flyfishing for 2 weeks and my mechanic is going to put in new rear axle bearings, new rear brakes, and, a new pinion seal in my '56. Anything I need to tell him about? I do have Roy's advice about using a "NEW" flange nut upon replacing the pinion seal. Just wondered if there any "quirks" with the other stuff. Thanks

The replacement bearings are a sealed unit. When I did my 56 I removed the dust cover and seal and turned the seal around.Now the bearings get lubed with gear oil. It's hard to remove the seal without damage but my local Napa store got me some that work fine. Napa axle bearing # for a 56 is RW-507-ER and the seal # is or was several years ago # 18543. Rob
