    66 First design brakes

All - what are the part numbers for the first design 1965 - 66 brake calipers and visually how can you tell the difference from later year brakes. As always - thanks!

    Eric -

The "first design" calipers are casting numbers 5465952 and 54 front, and 5465902 and 05 rear. Other than the casting numbers, there is no external difference; internally, the first design calipers have a cast-in and machined piston guide at the bottom of each bore, and use unique pistons to accommodate the guides.

Thanks - my '66 is on the road. I'll figure out how to post pictures and send you one. Thanks for all the great advice. Eric
