Pre-crushed foam?

I am looking into recovering the seats in the 1970. Some recovered seats i've sat in were very ridgid, not very comfortable compared to an old original seat.
I've seen the term pre-crushed foam throw about. Is pre-crushed foam a reality or something of some ones imagination.

A second question, Knoch offers the 100 percent leather covers, as well as the original leather/vinyl covers. I've seen some installations of the full leather covers that looked less than good. i am sensing that the full leather covers are more difficult to install than the leather/vinyl.

I'd sure like to hear your thoughts on these questions.

Having a bad back since high school I always had trouble driving for 3 hours until I purchased a an 80 Audi with very hard, hard seats. My first thought was this is going to be a problem. However after driving non stop sone 14 hours I got out of the car and could walk upright. Since that time its been ridgid foam seats or nothing. American cars were soft seats (lots are now better) and has been a downfall when many of use search for a new ride. Just one person's experience.

As for Knoch, I have found them very good with their repro's. Believe they will install seat covers as an optional service.
