C2 Fuel Injection air cleaner bolt markings?

OK, did the search route and looked at the JM, but unable to find an answer.

What are the head markings on the three hex head bolts that are seen in the wheel well which hold the FI air cleaner?

Two of mine are marked as "A" while third is "P" with three lines at 120 degrees.
Are 1/4-20 at 5/8" (The parts book calls for 1/4-20 at 5/8")

Now the repro are all marked as "RBW" at 120 degrees. Also 1/4-20 but at 7/16".

Could there have been a number of different 1/4-20 used here??
Does anyone know what an original one is marked?

LAST - what is the finish here, bright or dull ?

    Thank you

    Alan,

I believe the "A" bolt was the most common, followed by "P" and also some with a plain head. I have no cars with RBW's on file but that doesn't mean there weren't any.

If I remember correctly, this bolt was the usual grey plating but I'm not 100% sure. I'll see if I can find the info on this.

By the way, this plate was installed AFTER the wheel house undercoat process. Not before as the JG states. I can't even figure out any logical way it could have happened that way.

Michael, Had to read your reply 2 times. You said the reinforcing plate was installed before undercoating?? First time I ever heard this but listen. I saw a photo of a low mileage 65 that had a shiney (?) plate installed over top undercoating and said to myself that it was suspicious. Too late for my 63 as undercoating done. Plate won't rust. Surely it was not done that way on all C2's. I bet you have a pretty pic to post though. Also hope Sr. Ernesto did not cause u any grief. Thanks, JR.
