    Blown fuse

Finishing up on my '66 convertible and I ran into a little problem. I keep blowing the fuse when I turn on either the turn signals or lights. The brake lights and B/U lights work fine. What and where are the most obvious places to look? The rear wire harness was replaced during the repairs.

    Re: Blown fuse

It could be a lot of places, but I think I would remove all tail and parking light bulbs and then see if a fuse blows. If not, then check each socket and bulb as they go back in. Make sure you have the correct bulb in the sockets. If you have back up lights, the bulbs are single terminal(1156) not dual(1157).

I dis-connectted the rear harness and tried the lights. I did not blow the fuse and my dash lights worked. However, the head lamps and front parking lights did not. I switched the ignition on and tried the turn signals. Although the fuse did not blow, my expectation was the dash indicator would glow continuously but it didn't. Shouldn't all the front lights work with the rear harness dis-connected?

              Re: Blown fuse

I dis-connected or removed all lamps, front and back. Fuse still blew. I removed the rear valance and all the wiring appears as it should. I checked the wiring running under the sill plate and there is no issue there. Any other suggestions of what to check??
