Re: Dixie Chevrolet
Mike..I was told the Chevy dealer south of Atlanta that supplied cars and parts to SEDCO recently closed...but it is worth checking.
According to the workorder ..some of the Sebring parts and cars were shipped directly to Vince Piggins at SEDCO...and others may have been processed through the local dealer...like the cars that became Black Widows. They may have been Atlanta, Ga Plant built cars that satisfied the workorder..
Art Armstrong has the workorder and can confirm the details.

Dixie Chevrolet was the dealership that
delivered all of George Robertson's race cars - 1961/2/3 Sebring, etc - Dixie is listed as the owner in 1963 but Robertson owned the car. The 63 got a new back window in '64 and raced as a 64 (car # 6); it got a new hood and side gills and raced as a '65 in 1965 (car #5) and WON GT-15.
On quite a few of these trips, his co-driver was Dick Boo. I'll send my last known address for Boo by e-mail.
By the way, Boo told me that car was still missing but he can ID it.- Top

Re: Dixie Chevrolet
Joe, The WO that you are referring to, that I have, is for the 1957 time frame only. I just made a quick review of it and did not see Dixie Chevrolet mentioned.
BTW to my knowledge Vince Piggins was never physically located at any SEDCO location, he was at the Chevrolet Engineering Center in Warren MI.
