I just droped the tank off of my project 1967 435 hp car and was extremely exicited to find the original sticker, most of the important info is still legible but barely...I want to get a sticker made to duplicate mine (so I can keep the original in my safe)the inspectors number seems to be either 342 or 842 but can't tell for sure. My car is number 2931 does anybody have a car near to my Vin that can tell me where my inspectors number should be?

Re: 1967 Tank Sticker
try scannig the sticker, the number may be more visible. Also, the number should be chalked on the body tub, in front of the Fuel Tank (the back side of the jack storage compartment on the outside of the car), as well as the engine compartment side of the passenger floor board. The number should be the same in all these locations and on the sticker.
Hope that helps,

Re: 1967 Tank Sticker
I dont think that the hand written pencil # on the tank sticker is always the same as the hand written chalk # on the body parts.

Re: 1967 Tank Sticker
The penciled number on the tank sticker is typically 1 or 2 digits before the last 3 numbers of the VIN#. If the last 3 numbers of the VIN are over 500 then the penciled number will be VIN# - 500 less 1 or 2 digits.
Example VIN = xxx456 then penciled number = 456-1=455
VIN = xxx789 then penciled number = 789-1-500=288
The JOB number on the body panels and doors is NOT the same as the penciled number on the tank sticker.- Top

Re: 1967 Tank Sticker
It typically never is the same as the number on the tank sticker was near the VIN#; either right on or within a digit or 2. Of course the "500 repeat" rule is also included in that number sequence.....- Top
