C1 1959 Gas Door Rubber Bumpers

I lost a point for my gas door rubber bumpers because they did not have a metal insert in them. Does anyone sell these with the metal insert? Thanks, Jimmy

That is right it should have the metal (rubber covered) plus a S/S cup washer and hex screw, I dont know who would sell them!

Is it a flat piece of metal molded into the rubber? Thanks for your response. Jimmy

So the metal is the same shape as the rubber. One short angle and one long angle. Thanks for your patience. Jimmy

Gas Door Bumper - metal insert

Most Judges check for stiffness of the gas door rubber bumpers by squeezing them together. If one could make them less flexible and stiff to simulate a metal insert that would probably satisfy the Judges. Food for thought. Good luck, Gary....
