    Aluminum Valve Cover Restoration

I just received my refinished valve covers from fellow member John E. DeGregory today. I just wanted to let everyone know that I was more than pleased with his service. I wanted to thank him in public on a job well done. Below is a link to a pic of the finsihed product. One thing that I did learn is that the process does not remove defects from the covers, so the process will not remove chipping, pitting....

    Michael,

Can you give us an idea what the typical cost is to have a set of valve covers restored, inc. S&H?

There look really nice. Did he charge extra to reverse the Corvette lettering?

Bob. Only known factory produced set with reversed lettering. 1 of 1. LOL

I accidentally deleted the pic trying to reverse the lettering. Good catch, Bob. Here's a new link. Easier on the eyes.

              Mike,

What process does John use and what was the turn around time?

              Thanks

I do not know the process. Turnaround time is about three weeks.

Hi Michael, Thanks for the free commercial. I try and refrain from this on DB though because it's unthical and not typically permitted. But I appreciate your fine compliments and I am pleased that your valve covers came out so nice. The final finish is only as nice as what you send us to do.Can't do much about damaged valve covers. If anyone wants info please don't ask it here. Just email me. Thanks again, John

RJ, Thanks for the help on the stencil. Glad you like the finish on parts. Cheep shot. Also thanks for finding the archives photo of the blue spring.
So when MH said recently that you had an early factory photo of the blue spring. Having trouble finding a suitable reply that won't get me thrown off board. See you soon. Understand you are bringing a lot of '63 stuff to Carlisle to sell. Good luck on the show. John
