C3 (69): Windshield wiper adjustments

Hi all,

A C3 related question this time: My right wiper blade is not parked low enough for the wiper door to close without crushing the wiper blade. I've tried to adjust the pulling arm which is mounted on rotating wiper motor axle (via some mechanical stuff) but I can't get it to pull far enough (I'm on the limit of the slotted holes with the adjustment bolts).

Am I overlooking some aditional adjustment possibilities or is something so worn that I can't adjust it enough anymore?

Just a couple of suggestions Rob -- The proper adjustment of the wipers can not be achieved unless the engine is running -- the wiper motor is sensitive to the system voltage, and the engine must be running with proper battery charge and alternator output before system voltage is 14+ volts to make the wiper operate at full power.
The windshield (or windscreen, depending on where you live) must be wet for the wipers to sweep and operate normally. The high friction of the dry glass will reduce the sweep of the wipers enough to cause issues.

Their is a slotted screw in the side of the arm that will provide a small adjustment and should be all you will need to do. Look for it on the side about 4" from the bottom of the arm.

Rob have you tried to adjust the valve on the cowl. It has quite a bit of adjustment. Loosen the two bolts holding it and slide the "J" nuts up the plate on the cowl.
